If you enjoy leisurely strolls through parks and gardens full of beautiful flowers and plants, then Harrogate is definitely ideal. The surrounding countryside of the Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors are ideal for walking, cycling or a picnic in the country. There are plenty of opportunities to stop and sock up the beauty and amassing wildlife.

Harrogate is also home to the new 'Hydro' Complex, which has excellent fitness facilities, dance and fitness studios, plus a 25 meter 8 lane pool. There are two golf courses at Crimple Valley and Rudding Park. Plus Harrogate has a Ten Pin bowling alley.

The nearby town of Knaresborough also has an indoor swimming pool, plus other watersports on the River Nidd that sweeps the outskirts of the town. Knaresborough is also excellent to wonder around and discover the many ancient walkways, cobbled alley's, pathways and secret passages.
