Local towns and areas:

The South of England is home to a number of spectacular towns like Oxford, Banbury, Windsor, and seaside towns like Bournmouth and Portsmouth.

Portsmouth is a town steeped in history, were in days gone by the footsteps of famous heroes and convicts would have tread. Here you can travel back in time and wander round the narrow lanes and cobbled streets were these footsteps would have strolled through in yesteryears. Discover the Round Tower built in 1418 by order of Henry V in order to defend the harbour. Both Portsmouth and Bournmouth are in the area of Dorset, which is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Britain.

Banbury is also a famous town with some splendid history. However no trip to the South would be complete without a trip to Windsor.

Centuries ago Windsor became popular with the wealthy and privileged of London. They moved west along the river to Windsor to escape the pressures and summer smells of London. Although London no longer suffers these summer problems Windsor is now a royal town, the Castle is one of three official residences of the Queen and has been home to the sovereign for over 900 years.

Reading is also a superb town with a lot of history and culture. Here you can wonder round the Abbey exploring the local history, enjoying and sample some of the many arts there are on offer from street plays to music, or party the night away.

With such a diverse option of places to visit there are no shortage of activities for everyone to enjoy, and so many places to explore.
