Transport in Brighton

By car: Brighton offers a fast and Frequent Park and Ride. This is the best way to arrive at the town center if you have journeyed to it by car. This facilities allows you to park your car for free, then take the short journey right into the heart of Brighton at a small cost. This is a hassle free way to travel to the center, without the stress of finding places to park. (There is free parking for Disabled yellow badge holders in these City Council car parks, and on-street pay and display areas). The buses run every 12 minutes, Monday - Saturday. The return fare is only 1.20 with up to two children free.

By train: Brighton and Hove have four railway stations, Brighton Railway Station, Hove Railway Station, London Road Railway Station, and Preston Park Railway Station the last two being situated just outside the center. There are direct train services to Brighton and Hove from all over the U.K. with good connections if there is no direct train.

By coach: National Express Coach services have a wide U.K. service. For pick up points and destinations, and run regularly from London Victoria to Brighton.

By air: There are direct rail links between Brighton and Heathrow Airport (90 minutes by train) and Gatwick Airport (30 minutes by train). There is also direct coach service to both the airports.

By bus: There is a good local bus service with plenty of stops and easy color - coded for different routs. There is only one fare whatever the distance. With special bus lanes, this is an effective way to move around the town.

Cycling: There are cycle routs along the seafront Victoria Gardens and Lewes Road. There are more cycle routs being built throughout the city to form a network of cycle lanes. There are cycle racks situated throughout the city. It is also possible to hire bikes all year round.
